Job Description- Marketing Consultant (1-2 years experience)
The Consultant will be required to support senior and mid‐level marketing consultants, as well as
working autonomously with clients and on individual projects.
The Consultant will undertake the full range of professional communications activities, including but
not limited to media management, issues management, crisis management, events management
and co‐ordination, community consultation and development of promotional materials.
The Consultant will undertake the full range of marketing activities, including but not limited to
proposal preparation, professional copywriting, prepare creative briefs and creative direction,
liaison with graphic designers and clients, on‐site photography and television shoots. Usually these
projects are within the context of a marketing strategy developed by Out of the Blue Marketing.
The Consultant will be responsible for coordinating the activities and quality of output of our
suppliers and external consultants – commissioning them as required to complete tasks and
monitoring their performance. This includes but is not limited to professional printing, signage
printing and installation, media planning and scheduling, advertising production, website and online
marketing requirements.
As a part of the position, the Consultant will be part of a Queensland‐wide team through the
auspices of Queensland Corporate Communications Network of which OOTB is an affiliate office,
with access to other similar level staff, senior practitioners and support from other specialised
support staff.
The Consultant will be expected to work closely with all members of the Out of the Blue Marketing
team, including marketing consultants, graphic designers and administrative support. Additionally,
the Consultant should provide a positive representation for further business development.
This position will be a full time role of 38 hours per week. From time to time, the consultant may be
required to support projects out of usual business hours, in which case overtime payment may be
arranged. The Consultant will be paid in accordance with the Public Relations Award through the Fair
Work Australia Act relevant to their individual experience.
It is recommended that the Consultant become a member of the Public Relations Institute of
Australia and access professional development activities as available.
